SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY

Small Business Saturday was celebrated today for the 2nd year.  As articles read:

"Black Friday is over and cyber Monday is ahead, but today is Small Business Saturday: a special shopping day created by American Express, designed to give a boost to neighborhood stores."

"This year marks the second annual Small Business Saturday. Shoppers are encouraged to shop locally in exchange for a $25 credit sponsored by American Express for purchases charged to the card."

Wether you use an American Express card or not,  Mom & Pop businesses throught out the US are now celebrating this day.  It is a day to rejuvenate their businesses.

"It's critical for the economy here locally, critical for the state, and the country," said Moretti. We can't survive with just big box stores."

"I think even though there are lots of challenges with business, the economy the way it is, I think there's a big part small businesses can play,"

"Great news! The Small Business Saturday groundswell has gained national attention thanks to inspiring small business owners across America. We are proud to share that the White House is now a supporter of the Shop Small movement - see announcement http://aexp.co/BDP ."

"Don't count out the mom-and-pops, who are fighting back with deals of their own on the second-annual Small Business Saturday. Across the nation, small retailers are armed and ready for what they hope will be their biggest shopping day of the year: Small Business Saturday. "

"This year, President Obama endorsed Small Business Saturday describing it as a way to "keep our local economies strong and help maintain an American economy that can compete and win in the 21st century."

"Research shows that the holiday season makes up for the bulk of small businesses' yearly sales. With projections that 90 million consumers will be out shopping this Small Business Saturday, "It instills a sense of community, which is important on a local and national level -- more money stays in the community and more jobs are created."

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU who were able to get out and help support all us Mom & Pop business today AND will continue to do so in the future!
